Flickerfest, Sydney’s Academy® accredited and BAFTA recognised short film festival is once again rolling out the red carpet in Bondi this summer, with some big names about to hit the big screens at the Bondi Pavilion.

Idris Elba (Luther, The Wire), Virginie Ledoyen (The Beach, 8 Women, Shall We Kiss?), Kris McQuade (Rosehaven, The Kettering Incident), Maya Stange (Love Child, The Secret Daughter), Charlotte Best (Teenage Kicks, Puberty Blues), not to mention Rose Byrne and Alex Dimitriades, the stars will certainly be lighting up Bondi this January!

With 23 world premieres and 23 Australian premiers Flickerfest 2018 there is something for everyone in this years amazing line up of great shorts from across the globe!

Flickerfest has a massive smorgasboard of short films on offer over 10 days at Bondi in January, here are just a few of our highlights!!

Celebrating the YES vote in Australia and new to Flickerfest 2018 is our specially curated Rainbow Shorts programme curated by award winning local queer filmmaker Craig Boreham.

Our Documentary 1 programme includes some of the weirdest and most wonderful true stories from across the globe, including the Academy Award shortlisted tale of true love Edith & Eddie, America’s oldest interracial newlyweds.

FlickerKids is a delightfully entertaining programme of shorts that will appeal to the kid in everyone, including the felt animated Hedgehog’s Home. Narrated in rhyme, this charming adaptation is based on a fable by the Yugoslavian author Branko Ćopić.
