If you missed them, we have some amazing screenings coming up this weekend!!

Club Sapphire in Merimbula will be hosting the Best of Australian Shorts this Friday the 13th of April, following up with the Short Laughs Comedy programme on Saturday the 14th of April.  This event is a collaboration with our friends at Pambula Rotary Club and we are very proud that all proceeds from the screenings will be donated to the Tathra Bushfire Appeal.

On Saturday night the Riverside Theatres in Parramatta will play host to some wonderful local shorts as part of the Best of Australian Shorts programme screening.

The charming family friendly short Apricot, written by Parramatta local Nisrine Amine and the heart warming, inspiring documentary One Shot by fellow Parramatta local Jo-Anne Brechin which tells the story of Muhumuza, who came to Australia from Uganda as a refuge with his family and who with the help of his Blacktown school community became a national shot put champion!

Winner of the Flickerfest 2018 Best Direction in an Australian short film Second Best from AACTA award winning Bankstown born and raised director, writer, producer and actor Alyssa McClelland (pictured above at the Flickerfest Canberra screening with her leading ladies Karina and Raechelle Banno and Flickerfest Festival director Bronwyn Kidd) is part of this amazing line-up of Aussie shorts!

There will be a complimentary drinks session following the screening where guests can mingle with the local filmmakers who will be in attendance.

We’re capping off the weekend with a trip over to Kalgoorlie in WA with the Best of Australian Shorts including the charming WA made doco Deighties (dating in your 80’s!) at our new partner venue Stage Left Theatre.
