Flickerfest 2018 Tour Is Underway!

FLiCKERFEST 2018 IS ON TOUR, COMING SOON TO A TOWN NEAR YOU!!

After an amazing 10 days at Bondi, Flickerfest is now on tour around Australia!

Kicking off with a stellar screenings under the stars in Bendigo and Dinner Plain showcasing the very Best of Australian Shorts from our Bondi competition programmes!

ImageFor three wonderful days and evenings Flickerfest lit up the Mullumbimby Civic Hall presenting amazing shorts from local filmmakers in the Byron All Shorts competition 2129272.jpgalongside the Best of International, Best of Australian and Short Laughs Comedy programme.

Thanks Mullumbimby for having us, we had a great weekend, congratulations to our Byron All Shorts winners and thanks to our wonderful film loving audience for all your support!

We are back on the road taking the Best of Australian Shorts to Narrabri on the 10th of February and across the country to Denmark on the 16th of February.

We will be bringing two unique programs to the Kino Palace Cinemas in Melbourne, presenting the Best of Melbourne Shorts and the Best of EU Shorts across two wonderful evenings, the 14th and 15th of February.

 

AND THE OSCAR GOES TO …

The 2018 Academy Award nominations were announced recently and we were super proud to see some of the incredible shorts screening at Flickerfest 2018 amongst them!! A huge congratulations to the amazing nominated International Shorts DeKalb Elementary and to Watu Wote (All Of Us) which also took home the European Union in Australia Award for Best EU Short Film at our awards ceremony in Bondi!!

ImageWatu Wote will be screening as part of the Flickerfest National Australian Tour in our Best of International programme as well as in our Best of EU Shorts screening in Melbourne and Perth!

Also joining the nominated shorts is the Awesome The Eleven O’Clock that had its World Premiere at Flickerfest 2017 and took home the award for Best Screenplay in an Australian Short film. In the animation category the adorable Garden Party from our 2017 programme is also nominated for an Oscar!!

We wish them all the very best in the coming months before the awards are announced in March! In the meantime catch Watu Wote (All Of Us) on tour around Australia in a town near you!!
