For many filmmakers across the globe 2020 has been a strange and difficult year and we at Flickerfest understand that COVID-19 has put up some roadblocks for many filmmakers not being able to complete their shorts to schedule. Due to this we will be open to working with filmmakers in accepting late submissions and/or cuts of shorts for consideration providing that the finalised film can be delivered in a timely manner to screen in Bondi in January 2021 if selected.
Please email: [email protected] with any enquiries.

We cant wait to announce our Flickerfest 2021 programme in December 2020 for our Academy® Award Qualifying and BAFTA Qualifying festival.

2021 is promising to be a bumper programme with FLiCKERFEST celebrating our 30th year of screening the best short films from Australia and around the world across 10 days & nights of our competition and special showcase programmes once again on Sydney’s famous Bondi Beach.

Join us on the red carpet in Bondi this January!

HOW TO ENTER YOUR FILM

Flickerfest receives a large volume of enquiries regarding fee waivers.
As much as Flickerfest would like to give films a waiver, we cannot do so unless the circumstances are exceptional.  Our entry fees go towards covering prizes for our Academy® Award Qualifying and BAFTA Qualifying competition winners, accreditation and accommodation for selected filmmakers who attend the festival and general festival operation costs.
