FLiCKERFEST HEADS TO THE NT & BEYOND THIS JULY!

Image

Join us this July as the Flickerfest Tour heads to the NT, stopping off at the Deckchair Cinema in Darwin with the  on the 2nd of July and at the Katherine Cinemas in Katherine on the 14th July.

In both locations we celebrate NT stories officially selected for the Flickerfest Bondi competition programmes with us when we present the stunning moving Shiny One, the story of a young man who dreams of escaping his bush community and finding riches, only to discover that wealth comes in many forms and Tanith Glynn-Maloney’s Finding Jedda, a re-imagining of the 1954 auditions for the iconic Australian film Jedda. We are thrilled to showcase the delightful animation Wanmari, an animated culture story from Ngukurr story project South East Arnhem Land and produced by Courtney Collins.

For Northern Queensland film-lovers we return once again to the Central QLD Conservatorium of Music in Mackay in collaboration with our friends at Film & Arts Mackay to present the Best of Australian Shorts on Friday 1st July.  The programme features a Queensland created short, the the fun neighbourly drama Stonefishwritten and produced by and starring accomplished young Queensland actor, George Pullar, currently lighting up the small screen in the ABC TV drama ‘Barons’.

We cap off our July screenings with a return to The Crossing Theatre in Narrabri with two jam-packed programmes, the Best of Australian Shorts, featuring our #flickerfest2022 Best Australian Short Film award winner Giants, filmed locally, and the Best of International Shorts programme across one incredible evening Thursday 28th July.
