Specsavers & Flickerfest TVC Call for Entries

Submit Your ‘Should’ve Gone to Specsavers’ Moment for Your Chance to Win $5k – Entry is Free!

You know the ads. They’re the iconic Specsavers commercials featuring people caught in hilarious moments of sight error, prompting people to get their eyes tested. There’s the dad casting a line with his boat keys attached instead of a fishing lure. Or the lifeguard rescuing a baby seal from the surf.

These ads have been gracing Australian screens for over 15 years, and ‘Should’ve gone to Specsavers’ has become part of our national vernacular. Now we’re inviting you to submit your own Should’ve ideas and become part of the brand’s legacy.

The brief is simple. You need to come up with a script for a 1-minute commercial that delivers an entertaining, light-hearted eyesight gag, with the line “Should’ve gone to Specsavers” as the punchline. Remember, Should’ve moments are witty and irreverent but Specsavers customers are never the butt of the joke.

Our friends at Specsavers will then help us choose a winner, then they’ll fund production to bring your script to life. The winning ad will then premier on the big screen at Flickerfest 2024 in Bondi, before appearing in 45 other venues around the country as part of our national tour from Feb-Oct 2024.

It’s an incredible way to showcase your skills and set up the next step in your creative career by making a TVC that will screen at Flickerfest, Australia’s leading short film festival.

And on top of all that, the winner will receive $5,000.

Entry is free – So don’t miss out!
