Flickerfest on route to Broome, Port Macquarie and Murwillumbah!

7th March 2018

Flickerfest headed North and West last weekend, taking in Queensland and WA and showcasing 4 amazing programmes in Perth as well as screenings in MackayNambour and Maryborough!

ImageWe continue on the journey of taking the best shorts across Oz this weekend as we visit Broome in the far north reaches of WA, to Murwillumbah in Northern NSW and to sunny Port Macquarie!

We are super excited to be showcasing the stellar efforts of the Broome filmmaking community on Friday and Saturday night at the Sun Pictures as we bring two awesome films featuring Broome locals home for the weekend.

The stunning Blight by Broome born and raised director Perun Bonser will be screening on Friday the  9th of March with Perun heading back to his home town to introduce the film to his local community.

On Saturday night the incredible Aboriginal Western Miro stars the AACTA nominated Mark Coles Smith (Last Cab To Darwin) who also grew up in Broome.  The charming documentary Deighties (dating in your eighties!) by Perth director Mason Fleming will also screen.

Whilst on the theme of promoting local filmsmakers,  we will be featuring two films from local filmakers at HOTA on the Gold Coast on the 15th of March;  Patty Lovesick from local director James Fitchett and the beautiful Mother, Child by director Tin Pang who grew up on the Gold Coast and who will be present to introduce the film and do a Q & A after the screening.

We are bound to be coming soon to a town near you, check out our tour page for more details!!  See you sometime soon in a town near you!
