Flickerfest 2025 National Tour Wraps

What a journey! Our 2025 National Tour wrapped up on the weekend in Cairns, and what an unforgettable ride it’s been!
Over the past few months, we’ve travelled far and wide, visiting 40+ venues across Australia from magical under-the-stars screenings to packed cinemas in bustling cities, small country halls and everything in between. Each stop reminded us just how special it is to share the magic of short films with audiences all around the country.
A huge thank you to everyone who joined us along the way: our incredible partners, venues, filmmakers, and of course, our wonderful audiences who came out in droves, with so many sold-out screenings! Your enthusiasm, laughter, and love for storytelling keep the Flickerfest spirit alive year after year.
We’ll be back in 2026.

Flickerfest Late Deadline Oct 15th – Show Us Your Shorts!

Since 2001 Flickerfest has been honoured to be an Academy Awards® accredited festival.
The 2026 winners of Flickerfest’s Best International Short Film, Best Australian Short Film, Best Documentary Short Film and Best International Animation Short Film awards are eligible to submit their films for the 99th Academy Awards® in 2027.
We’ve already received an amazing crop of entries for next years festival and we can’t wait to see what stories you’ll bring to Flickerfest 2026.
There’s just one week to go to enter your film for Flickerfest 2026.
