Festival News – Day 5, Tuesday 12 January

12th January 2016

Today at FLiCKERFEST

Welcome to DAY 5 of the festival! On the day that we screen 2 wonderful Documentary programmes, including Lets Dance: Bowie Down Under, it is with much sadness we say vale to David Bowie who passed away yesterday.

We are honoured to screen this film about his remarkable work and the making of his music clip in Australia.  We hope sharing his story can be a fitting tribute to a remarkable visionary and creative powerhouse.

This afternoon we have a fabulous double dose of docos with two great sessions of shorts back to back. Find out what it’s like to live in the house of a notorious serial killer in Best of Documentary 1 then later in Best of Documentary 2 we screen Lets Dance: Bowie Down Under, as well as the poignant and moving Michelle’s Story from dance legend Meryl Tankard.

Following the docs we have another great session of local shorts in Best of Australian 5. The fifth of six programmes in competition for the coveted Academy® accredited Virgin Australia Award For Best Australian Short Film.

See you there!
