SUBMISSION DEADLINE EXTENDED!

Great news for all of you filmmakers working frantically to finish that short! Due to an overwhelming number of requests, we have extended the submission deadline for Flickerfest 2020 by just over a week. You now have until Tuesday 8th October to get your short films in front of the selection panel for next year’s Academy® Accredited and BAFTA-recognised festival.

Flickerfest, Australia’s premier International Short Film Festival will be held under the summer stars at the Bondi Pavilion on Sydney’s famous Bondi Beach from 10-19th January 2020. The Festival will celebrate 29 years of screening the best short films from Australia and around the world in competitions and special showcases. Following the Festival in Sydney,  a selection of films will go on tour to 50+ capital cities and regional centres around Australia.

Flickerfest looks forward to welcoming all selected filmmakers with full accreditation and accommodation packages, allowing them to participate in all gala parties, networking events and screenings across our ten day celebration of short film at Australia’s most iconic beach in the peak of summer.

* Best European Union Short from International Competition
* SAE FlickerUp – Australian School Students Competition
* ASEAN Competition – Best Shorts from the ASEAN region.
* Flickerfest will also screen special showcases out of competition including Short Laughs Comedy, Love Bites relationship shorts, Rainbow Shorts LGBTQI+ spotlight and FlickerKids   short films for children.
