Dear Flickerfest friends far and wide …

Flickerfest 2021 Entries Now OpenAfter a rollercoaster of a year globally, we are super excited to be the bearer of some great news:

FLiCKERFEST 2021 is now open for entries!

Enter Now Across All Competitions !

Flickerfest will be back and bigger than ever as it celebrates its 30th birthday in 2021 with entries open now for submissions in all categories, with tonnes of cash and prizes up for grabs.

Don’t miss your chance to screen your films at Australia’s most iconic beach under the stars at the country’s only OSCAR® and BAFTA Qualifying short film festival.

The Festival has been a major launching pad for some of Australia’s and the world’s most celebrated filmmakers. Don’t miss your chance to launch your film on the world stage.

For many filmmakers across the globe 2020 has been a strange and difficult year and we at Flickerfest understand that COVID-19 has put up some roadblocks for many filmmakers not being able to complete their shorts to schedule.  Due to this we will be open to working with filmmakers in accepting late submissions and/or cuts of shorts for consideration providing that the finalised film can be delivered in a timely manner to screen in Bondi in January 2021 if selected.

In consideration of current COVID times our regulations for the 2021 year will allow films to enter in competition if they have screened online at other Academy® Qualifying festivals, both in Australia and internationally, behind a paywall or password protected system for a limited time only.

Please feel free to email us with any questions about entries.

Flickerfest looks forward to sharing your short films with our our film-loving audience under the stars in Bondi in January!
