Flickerfest honours Survival Day and acknowledges the history, resilience and contribution of all First Nations people to our life and culture. At 6:30pm experience an incredible shorts collection featuring our country’s most talented creatives, both in front and behind the camera and meet the makers, including producer/director/writer Tanith Glynn-Maloney who has two incredible films in this programme Finding Jedda & Shiny One and the delightful animation Wanmari, all the way from the Ngukurr story project in South East Arnhem Land, by accomplished young animator Jake Duczynski.

Then at 9pm, join us under the stars and catch the finale of our Academy Qualifying Australian Competitions in our Australian programme 7, featuring 8 incredible local shorts on the big screen. Highlights include the fun romcom The Quirky Best Friend, thrilling drama Run South and suburban comedy Hellbender, chronicling the unorthodox methods of an unremarkable man in his quest for significance.
