Don’t Miss Out On The Final Weekend Of Flickerfest Bondi
GET READY FOR OUR FINAL WEEKEND!

Today is the last day to catch incredible showcases from at home and around the world, as we share our final weekend of screenings in Bondi before heading off on our national tour!
At 1.30PM, don’t miss out on FlickerKids Shorts, a delightfully entertaining family programme that will appeal to the kid in everyone. Follow the forgetful squirrel in Master Painter Ernst as he almost goes nuts looking for his acorns, Snow Bear, the beautifully illustrated animation about a lonely polar bear on a quest to find a friend and Mog’s Christmas, a much-loved children’s book that has been brought to life in a hand-drawn special by the same name.
At 4PM, Celebrate the amazing talent of young filmmakers 18 and under at our FlickerUp Youth Shorts competition! Be introduced to the creative Bubble Boy in a short-short that’s just one minute long, Mama Grub featuring an old woman collecting gumnuts for her stew and Tomber: To Fall about a ballerina’s descent into madness following a career-threatening injury.
At 6.30PM, be the first to watch shorts from brilliant Indigenous filmmakers and their teams in our Indigenous Spotlight programme. See Echoes of Dissent about the late Anthony Martin Fernando, an Aboriginal man who protested Indigenous rights over a century ago in Europe and the intimate Ornmol about a remote community in the North-West of Australia and their preparations for a culture festival and this is your last chance to see the much spoken about, Fix-It-Man And Fix-It-Wooman, a brilliantly crafted animation about two soft sculptures trying to impress each other with their moves.
At 9PM, join us for a fun after-dark screening session at our beautiful outdoor cinema. The 2nd programme of Short Laughs Comedy will take you on a laugh out loud journey. Check out the outstandingly hilarious The Head On Him from Ireland about a boy who cuts off his fro to fit in, only to have it grow back and cause some problems, then watch 7 Minutes To Rice about the bizarre bunch of roommates who start a witch hunt because there’s not enough rice in the house! Last but not least catch acclaimed actor Damon Herriman in the much-loved, Candy Bar, directed by Nash Edgerton.
