We are only days away from celebrating the opening of Flickerfest 2018 once again with 10 jam packed days of the best short films from Australia and across the globe at the fabulous and infamous Bondi Beach!
By the 12th of January the New Year’s Hangover would have (hopefully) well and truly worn off and we will all be reading to celebrate once more at the Flickerfest Opening Night Screening & Party. Thirst will be quenched by Parkers, Young Henry’s, Rosnay Organic Wines, Windowrie Wines and Tamburlaine Organic Wines while enjoying delicious snacks from Cob’s, Doughboy Pizza and the Queen of rice paper rolls, Lady Chu.
In addition to delicious food and drink, party-goers will get a taste for the 2018 Flickerfest programme with a selection of highlights including the hilarious animation from Canada An Imagined Conversation: Kanye West & Stephen Hawking; and Martha The Monster starring Rose Byrne.

More Festival Highlights !!
At Flickerfest 2018 we are very proud to be screening two very special short Documentaries which are both contenders for the documentary short subject category at the 90th Academy Awards.
Screening in Best of Documentary 1 is the tender and heart-warming tale Edith & Eddie, who at the ages of 95 and 96 are America’s oldest interracial newlyweds and whose love story is disrupted by a family feud that threatens to tear them apart.
Out of Africa comes the story of 8 year old girl, Bamunu who works as a real life shopping basket – called “Kayayo”, in Ghana to support her family in Kayayo – The Living Shopping Baskets in our Best of Documentary 2 programme.
Celebrating the child in all of us is our delightful FlickerKids programme which features delightful family friendly shorts from across the world including the charming Hedgehog’s Home, a world made of felt in which ‘a hedgehog is made fun of by a sly fox, a greedy bear, a wicked wolf and a muddy wild boar’.
