This week, Bondi Pavilion was alive with sequins, sass and cinematic magic as we filmed the brand new Flickerfest 2026 trailer, inspired by the iconic Aussie classic The Adventures of Priscilla: Queen of the Desert. Featuring a dazzling cast, a passionate local crew, and some seriously talented creatives, the trailer is a joyful celebration of community, creativity, and pure cinematic magic, all in true Flickerfest style. We’ve also been busy viewing a record almost 3,600 entries from filmmakers across Australia and around the world, and we can’t wait to share this incredible line-up as we mark our 35th birthday in 2026.
Flickerfest 2026, hits Bondi Pavilion from 23 January to 1 February for ten days of the very best short films from Australia and around the world, under the stars, by the sea, and as proudly fabulous as ever!

What a journey it’s been with the Flickerfest 2025 National Tour! From unforgettable stories on the big screen to starlit evenings across the country, we’ve loved sharing the magic of short film with audiences nationwide. A big thank you to all out tour partners for sharing the best of short films across the country.

This July we will be celebrating NAIDOC in Byron Bay and Kalgoorlie and Flickerfest will be hitting the big screen in Merimbula, Darwin and Katherine.
As we continue to celebrate the films of our 2025 festival far and wide we are also thrilled to announce that entries are now open for Flickerfest 2026 and we can’t wait to see this years crop of amazing short film gems.
