Tuesday is day four at Flickerfest and today promises another fantastic collection of shorts in completion not to be be missed.  At 630pm Our Best Of International Shorts 4 programme features the surprising short 7 Minutes from award-winning British comedian Ricky Gervais and the Australian Premiere of Turkish film  At Last, ‘when a young couple tries to attend a house party on an ‘’ordinary’’ Istanbul night, it doesn’t take long for them to realise that they are not in an ordinary city’

At 9pm don’t miss our outdoor screening of the Best Of Australian Shorts 6, featuring the World Premiere of Esperance To Fremantle where teenager Rob travels from Esperance to Fremantle seeking answers to his childhood, plus Are You Really The Universe?. ‘Alfie, a hopeless romantic, believes Effie is his forever love. In a series of nostalgia-soaked memories, we see the world through Alfie’s eyes’. Starring Tilda Cobham-Hervey.

BEST OF INTERNATIONAL SHORTS 5

At 6.30pm celebrate films from across the globe at the Best Of International Shorts 5, screening in  Bondi Pavilion Theatre. Highlights include the beautiful My Week with Maisy from the talented UK director Mika Simmons, starring the legendary Joanna Lumley. Plus the sweet and humorous short Piece of Liberty by Greek director Antigoni Kapaka: The Statue of Liberty and Joker, two wandering street performers, end up in the same police cell. When the systemic brutality of the state and the police “breaks” Liberty, Joker will search for the pieces to rebuild her from scratch.

At 9pm, join us under the stars at the Bondi Pavilion for our final Australian programme in competition, Best Of Australian Shorts 7. Be the first to see the inspiring Darwin Story from our Australian director Natasha Tonkin who studied film in the UK. Darwin Story is a stylish love letter to the town where she grew up. And don’t miss the stunning short drama Bottleneck from the director Tatjana Hamilton and an incredible ensemble cast: On a day intended to be a celebration of new life, a series of events and decisions made by a group of friends lead to a mistake which can never be undone.
