Join us at the Camelot Outdoor Cinema in Mosman Park, Perth.
Thursday 23rd – Saturday 25th February
for Flickerfest’s 29th year here on tour!

Once again Flickerfest celebrates our local story telling and culture in our Best of Australian Shorts shining a spotlight on  amazing WA highlights  fresh from their Bondi Premieres such as Good Fortune, in which a woman gets a little more (or less!?) than she bargained for when she goes to a fortune teller, the very relatable rom-com Match Made, which sees a young man searching for love on the dating app landscape, but to what avail? and the stunning Wirnitj from talented First Nations filmmaker Karla Hart, based on a story of mysterious rocks falling from the sky, told to her by her uncle Noongar elder Aron Eades. And dont miss a captivating performance by the legendary WA actor Trevor Jamieson in the quirky comedy The Fritz.

Also screening will be our Best of EU Shorts, featuring Oscar nominated Danish short IVALU, as well as the funniest night out you’ll have in February with our Short Laughs Comedy including The Flickerfest Best International Short Film, delightful French comedy Born To Cry !

Thu 23rd Feb, 7.30pm – Best of Australian Shorts
(doors open at 6:30pm for complimentary food & drinks on opening night)
Fri 24th Feb, 7.30pm – Best of EU Shorts Showcase
Sat 25th Feb, 7.30pm – Short Laughs Comedy

Doors open each night from 6:30pm. Come along for refreshments, get comfy and enjoy the films!

AND ONWARDS – TO BRISSIE!

Thursday 2nd March – join us at Palace James St Cinemas, Brisbane.
For one night only!

The very best that Australia and QLD have to offer will be on show, with 6 out of the 8 films all filmed in Queensland. We will be lucky enough at each tour venue to welcome some filmmakers along, so  grab a drink and meet the talented creatives behind these epic shorts.

This is a great opportunity to network and mingle, and ask them about their filmmaking process and other questions you have up your sleeve!

Katele (Mudskipper) won Best Australian Short Film at our Bondi Festival in January and was shot in Brisbane and Saibai Island, whilst A Stretching Moment proved to be a huge favourite with audiences, and will definitely feature spots you recognise, like your local cafe perhaps! Among other QLD favourites is the Oscar nominated animated comedy ‘An Ostrich Told Me the World is Fake and I Think I Believe It,’  a unique fantasy tale about a bored phone salesman who is comforted by a mysterious talking Ostrich, by talented Brisbane writer/ director Lachlan Pendragon.

Doors from 6:30pm, films at 7pm. Enjoy a complimentary drink on arrival, go the behind the scenes with the filmmakers as they introduce their films, then sit back, relax and watch the best of Aussie short films made in your own backyard!
