2025 Programme To Be Announced On 18th Dec!

Hello Flickerfest Friends,

We’ve received a record 3,500 outstanding submissions for Flickerfest 2025, we can’t wait to share the best of short films from Australia & around the world with you.

Flickerfest will screen 28 sessions across 10 days & nights from 17th-26th Jan 2025 at the Bondi Pavilion, Bondi Beach this summer.

We look forward to seeing you there! – Ticket will also go on sale from Wed 18th Dec.

Thank you to all of our fabulous partners, filmmakers and audiences again for your incredible support; together we’ll make Flickerfest 2025 another unforgettable year for film!

Entries – Early deadline closing soon! | Final 2024 Tour dates: Broome, Cygnet, Cairns and more…

Thanks everyone for making our national tour 2024 such a success With over 40 venues enjoying the short film magic across Australia so far, we’re now on the final leg of our cinema adventure, with 11 screenings to come in August and September.

We’ll be wrapping things up with stops in Broome WA, Cairns QLD and Cygnet in the beautiful south of Tassie, with a couple of regional halls in NSW, Maules Creek, Pilliga and Ulong along the way. You will also be able to catch encore screening’s of our Best of International Shorts and Rainbow Shorts at Waverley Council library theatrette this September.

Entries Open – exciting new competitions! | Next Up: Burnett Hds, Broome, Cygnet & more…

A huge thank you to our wonderful audiences recently in Hobart, Merimbula, Katherine and Darwin! our 2024 national tour will soon come to an end but still have a few more exciting venues on the horizon. Read on to see where you can catch the final Flickerfest tour screenings coming up in August and September, including Burnett Heads, Broome, Cygnet, Cairns, Ulong, Narrabri and more…..

We’re also keen to remind you that the call for entries for Flickerfest 2025 are open, so if you’ve got an awesome short film to share, this is your moment. Take advantage of our discounted regular deadline and enter here. Regular deadline September 12th. Late deadline October 9th. – Show Us Your Shorts!

And don’t forget, our ‘Should’ve gone to Specsavers’ competition free entries are also open. If you’re a writer/ director with a flair for comedy and a great idea this ones for you! But be quick! Entries close August 12th.

With so many wonderful ways to shine at Flickerfest next summer we can’t wait to see your creative brilliance on our Bondi big screen!

2025 Entries Open | July Tour: Hobart, Merimbula, Katherine, Darwin, Gunnedah & NAIDOC Byron, Ipswich& Waverley!

The Flickerfest tour has shared the short film love far and wide including a recent sell-out session in Newcastle with our Novacastrian filmmakers & friends on the 15th June.

This June/July Flickerfest will be hitting the big screen in Canowindra, Hobart, Merimbula, Katherine, Gunnedah, Darwin and more. We will also be celebrating NAIDOC in Byron Bay and Ipswich and back home with Waverley Council.. Tour Dates here.

As we continue to celebrate the films of our 2024 festival far and wide we are also thrilled to announce that entries are now open for Flickerfest 2025 and we can’t wait to see this years crop of amazing short film gems.

On tour: Lightning Ridge, Narrogin, Mackay Adelaide, Canberra, Parramatta and more!

A massive thank you to our beautiful audiences and filmmakers in Brisbane and Melbourne who joined us for the Best of Australian Shorts, Best of EU Shorts and Best of Melbourne Shorts 2024! Sessions were sold out with enthusiastic audiences celebrating our talented creatives.

Tonight (Tuesday 23rd) Flickerfest returns to the home of our delicious partners Rosnay Organic and their welcoming cellar door in Canowindra for our, Short Laughs Comedy screening.

This late April and May Flickerfest also hits the road to a massive 6 venues far and wide, including Lightning Ridge, Narrogin, Mackay, Adelaide, Canberra and Parramatta with lots more local film highlights. Read on for all of the details below.
