We had an incredible ten days and nights celebrating 31 years of Flickerfest and the magic of short film in the stunning surrounds of our divine festival garden at Bondi Beach.

We couldn’t have done it without you – our audience, all of our fabulous filmmakers and generous and supportive partners who made Flickerfest 2022 possible. FLiCKERFEST IS COFFS HARBOUR BOUND!

Flickerfest is now hitting the road over the next 8 months sharing the short film love all across the country! The Flickerfest Tour will be bringing a fabulous selection of hot shorts fresh from the Bondi festival to 45+ venues across Australia!!

First stop on Friday 18th and Saturday 19th February will be at the Jetty Theatre in Coffs Harbour with the Best of Australian Shorts, including the stunning NSW short Giants from Eddy Bell, which took home the Academy®Qualifying Panasonic Lumix Award for Best Australian Short film at our Bondi Awards ceremony last week and the Best of International Shorts programme featuring the Flickerfest 2022 Best International Short film award winner, the heartwarming and poignant short, Like The Ones I Used To Know from Canada.


FLiCKERFEST HEADS WEST!

We will also be heading out west to Perth for a three night celebration of film at our Western Australian home Camelot Outdoor, opening with the Best of Australian Shorts programme on Thursday 24th February featuring a number of incredible shorts from super-talented local Perth filmmaking talent, fresh from competition at Flickerfest 2022, including moving drama In Australia, from writer/director Miley Tunnecliffe, heartwarming shorts Good Night from writer/director David Vincent-Smith and Tooly from producer/ writer/director Karla Hart and writer/director Alex Von Hoffman’s finely crafted horror Evie. Join us for drinks and nibbles and meet the filmmakers while being entertained by DJ Larry D prior to the screening.

The programme continues in Perth with the Best of International Shorts lighting up the big screen on Friday 25th February and the Short Laughs Comedy programme, featuring the delightful animation Affairs of The Art, currently nominated for an Oscar for Best Animated Short film, wrapping up our Perth Tour on Saturday 26th February. We can’t wait to see you on tour in a town near you very soon!
