  • The Master’s Voice: Caveirao

Every night at 3:33 all clocks stop and time is frozen for a moment. During what is a fraction of second to mortal eyes there is a second night, a magical one where the spirits of the cit come out to play. That is the story of the eternal battle for the soul of Sao Paulo, the clash between bohemia and authoritarianism, between comedy and horror.

The Master’s Voice: Caveirao will also be considered for the Flickerfest Award for Best International Short Film (Academy® Accredited) selected by our prestigious International Jury.

  • Whaled Women

A group of whale women become washed ashore a fictional island. Alien outsiders, two women of the Office of Development, SS and KK, must work out what to do with them and help them to integrate into society. The film satirises issues of bureaucracy, women, feminism, immigration and prejudice.

  • Hollow Land

A story about the eternal human search for home, Hollow Land begins, as all such searches must, with the dream of utopia. Solomon and Berta are two seekers who arrive—their treasured bathtub improbably in tow—in a land that promises respite from their many journeys. From the first optimistic moments after their arrival, to the final haunting scene at sea, Hollow Land captures the state of being displaced—whether by circumstance or by choice.

  • The Underdog

The Underdog is a full CG animation about a humanoid robot that is an inventor. The film consists of the robot finding an invention competition flyer and then inventing a toothbrush. The animation is humorous as the robot doesn’t realize his invention is not original until the end when viewing an advertisement for toothbrushes.
