Adelaide, it’s your time to shine, Saturday 10th May — mark your calendars!

We’re bringing the big screen energy to the Mercury Cinema with two fantastic sessions that celebrate incredible storytelling from right here at home and across the globe.

First up at 6pm, we’re showcasing the Best of Australian Shorts, a collection especially close to our hearts, packed with powerful, thought-provoking stories and a whole lot of South Aussie talent.
This year, we’re thrilled to be screening seven local gems with strong ties to the Adelaide film scene, including:

???? Dragon’s Breath, produced by local legends Lisa Bishop and Poppy Fitzpatrick
???? Mars Futures, a bold vision from director Hannah Moore
???? Marcia and The Shark – winner of the Panasonic Award for Best Australian Short Film, starring Adelaide’s own Tilda Cobham-Hervey
???? Wishes: Windows & Nests, from the imaginative Ana Maria Mendez Salgado
???? And The Ocean Agreed, featuring a stunning performance by local actor Chrissie Page
???? Amok, written and directed by the talented Kahli Gaskin
???? Robbed, from multi-skilled duo Ben Crisp and Jonathan Taylor — both deeply embedded in the Adelaide film community

Then, at 9pm, take a cinematic journey around the world with our Best of International Shorts, an unforgettable showcase of award-winning and festival favourites from Belgium, Ireland, Germany, and beyond.Expect everything from Oscar-nominated animations to deeply moving dramas that’ll stay with you long after the final frame.

A Taste of Europe Comes to Canberra

We’re bringing a slice of Bondi’s magic to the Palace Electric Cinema on Thursday 15th May at 7:00pm with a very special Best of EU Shorts showcase thnks to our partners The European Union Delegation To Australia. Get ready to embark on a cinematic adventure across Europe with a vibrant line-up of festival favourites and award-winners, fresh from our beachside screens. From the moving French-Senegalese gem The Boy With White Skin (winner of Best EU Short Film) to the heartfelt French short Chico (Best EU Rainbow Short Film), and the stunning German drama This Is Not A Character This Is Betrayal, plus so much more, this is a night of stories that will move, inspire and stay with you.Your ticket also includes a complimentary Gage Roads craft beer or a glass of Rosnay Organic wine to enjoy as you soak up the magic. Join us at Rafferty’s Theatre in Parramatta on Saturday 17th May for an unmissable night celebrating festival favourites and award-winning short films from Australia and around the globe! We’re bringing you two incredible sessions. First up at 4pm, Best of Australian Shorts will showcase some of the country’s most exciting talent. We are thrilled to present The Audition, directed by Western Sydney’s Dee Dogan. Fresh from its world premiere at Flickerfest Bondi, this powerful short tells the story of a young Kurdish woman chasing her dreams against the odds, navigating the challenges of identity, family expectations and self-belief.Followed by the Best of International Shorts at 6.30pm, all handpicked highlights fresh from our recent Bondi competition.Expect an entertaining, inspiring, and diverse collection of stories, showcasing the hottest contemporary short films from home and abroad. Plus, your ticket includes a complimentary Rosnay Organic wine, Gage Roads beer  between sessions. Don’t miss this special celebration of world-class short filmmaking!

We’re so excited to be heading back to the Empire Theatre in Toowoomba on Saturday 17th May for a special night of incredible short films, fresh from our Bondi competition and ready to hit the big screen in Toowoomba!The evening kicks off at 5:30pm with our Best of International Shorts programme, featuring a stellar lineup of award-winning stories from around the globe.Then at 8pm, it’s all about homegrown talent with our Best of Australian Shorts, including two standout QLD-made films. All Of Us At River’s End was filmed across rural Queensland, including right here in Toowoomba, by local director Nick Elson. And Locked In, produced by and starring Toowoomba’s own Charlotte Chimes, whose journey started with two Empire Theatre Bursary awards.Don’t miss this one night only event at the Empire Theatre, featuring two standout screenings of the finest short films from Australia and around the globe. Plus, you’ll have the chance to hear from some of the talented filmmakers themselves as they introduce their films in person.
