It was great host so many of our filmmakers, welcome many familiar faces in our audience and many new short film lovers as well. Throwback To Our Mullumbimby Weekend

Thank you to our delightful Mullumbimby audiences for filling out The Civic Centre for three action-packed dates. A special thank you to Nick Waterman (How To Make Gravy based on Paul Kelly’s famous song) and everyone who came to listen to our free “Director’s from Shorts To Features Workshop”. It was so inspiring to see so many curious filmmakers and film lovers in the same room to listen to Nick’s inspiring filmmaking journey. 

Then came the real headline act; announcing the winners of our Byron All Shorts Northern Rivers Short Film competition that screened alongside Flickerfest over the weekend. Congratulations to our winners.

Come One, Come All – Coffs Harbour and Goulburn

Join us for some spectacular shows in Coffs Harbour on 14th and 15th March at the Jetty Memorial Theatre with our Best of Australian Shorts programme and Best of International Shorts programme! 

Watch our favourite flicks from the Best of Australian Shorts programme including The Dog about a sick dog who mysteriously appears at the practice of a struggling vet played by Kate Walsh (Greys Anatomy). Then dive into The Audition about a Kurdish singer who has a lot riding on a high stakes singing competition and then prepare to laugh at audience favourite The Hoist about a local inventor who goes to bizarre lengths to protect the most important thing at the annual bush dance; the supper. 

Then don’t miss our Best of Australian Shorts, featuring the above highlights, also screening at Goulburn Performing Arts Centre on 15th March!  This unforgettable night of storytelling is sure to dazzle!

Flickerfest is heading north to Queensland, bringing the very best in short films to Nambour and the Gold Coast!On Wednesday, 26th March, immerse yourself in the Best of International Shorts at 7pm in Nambour and take a cinematic journey across the globe, from Slovakia to the Netherlands and beyond. This collection of award-winning and festival-favourite films showcases the most exciting voices in world cinema, fresh from their Bondi premieres.Then, on Thursday, 27th March, we shine a spotlight on Australia’s incredible filmmaking talent with the Best of Australian Shorts in both Nambour and the Gold Coast. Fresh from Flickerfest Queensland stories take centre stage, including  And The Ocean Agreed, directed by Mooloolaba based Tanya Modini, with breathtaking beach and underwater scenes shot on the Sunshine Coast and starring Gold Coast based actor Jacy Smith; and All Of Us At Rivers End starring Gold Coast based actor Rene Le Feuvre, shot throughout rural Queensland and Brisbane. Don’t miss these incredible nights celebrating the power of short film and storytelling. See you in Queensland!
