Tuesday is day four at Flickerfest and promises to be yet another fantastic collection of shorts that aren’t to be missed. At 6:30PM Our Best Of International Shorts 4 programme features The Cockroach a moving tale based on the film makers own life and the beautiful Hearts of Stone about two statues in love, starring Swedish actress Noomi Rapace (The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo). At 9pm don’t miss our outdoor screening of the Best Of Australian Shorts 6, featuring the World Premiere of Pending Pick Up about friends Bethany and Miles who go on a rainy weekend adventure picking up Marketplace bargains and The Sax about a prodigious young saxophonist who discovers an unexpected truth about his teacher, and then about himself. It didn’t rain on our parade and we charged ahead with three jam-packed indoor theatres of fabulous short films for the Opening Night of Flickerfest and it went off with a bang! Thank you to all who came to celebrate the launch at our Sold Out Opening Night event and for cutting shapes on the dance floor at the After Party. We were thrilled to welcome so many excited filmmakers, audience members and festival partners and share a taste of our festival to come over the next 9 days. So much fun was had and we received an enthusiastic reception to the films screened, loved by all in attendance. Stay tuned for opening night pics which are coming soon! Our Opening Night on Friday 17th January is totally sold out & tickets to all other sessions are selling fast.
For those lucky people who have tickets for Opening Night, if the weather is fine the Screening & After-Party will be held in the outdoor lawn cinema in the Bondi Pavilion courtyard.
If it is raining the Screening will take place upstairs in the Pavilion in both the Seagull Room & the Indoor Theatre; & the After-Party will take place in the High Tide Room.
Just 1 week to go til Flickerfest launches our 10 day smorgasbord of the best short films from Australia & the world.

Flickerfest will screen 28 sessions across 10 days & nights from 17th-26th Jan 2025 at the Bondi Pavilion, Bondi Beach this summer.
